The six finalists are led by Eli Elezra who managed to keep his Day 2 overnight chip lead throughout the third day of the event, and to further extend that. The player bagged and tagged 2.7 million in chips a few hours ago, when organizers called it a day.
Elezra is eying his fourth WSOP gold bracelet. The player claimed his first piece in 2007, when he bested the field of the $3,000 World Championship Seven Card Stud Hi-Low. Bracelet number two arrived in 2013. Elezra won the $2,500 2-7 Triple Draw Lowball (Limit) during that year’s edition of the series. He scooped his final gold piece in 2015 when he took down the $1,500 Seven Card Stud.
Aside from his performance in the WSOP throughout the years of his poker career, Elezra also boasts a World Poker Tour title, which he claimed in 2004 when he won the WPT Mirage Poker Showdown for his best-ever tournament poker payout of $1,024,574.
In the ongoing $10,000 Omaha Hi-Lo 9 or Better Championship, Elezra emerged as the chip leader on Day 2 and has never looked back from that point. He ended the tournament’s second day of play with 858,000, which he more than tripled yesterday.
The Six Finalists
Paul Volpe, who is looking to win his third gold bracelet from the series, finished third in chips at the end of Day 3, good for 1.6 million. Kyle Miaso occupies the fourth position in the chip counts chart after the third day of action with 1.275 million.
Russia’s Viacheslav Zhukov, the only international player among the final six contenders, will enter the final day of action with 910,000. The player is the holder of two WSOP gold bracelets. Dustin Dirksen is rounding out the final table of six with a very short stack of 140,000. With blinds standing at 40,000/80,000, the player will have to move quickly to improve his numbers.
Day 4 action is set to kick off today at 2 pm Las Vegas time. The final six players will resume action from Level 21 and will play down to champion.
